Introduction to DisplayStore
DisplayStore is a professional macOS application designed for MacBook resellers. It transforms each displayed device into a smart display, automatically showing its technical specifications and selling price.
What is DisplayStore?
DisplayStore was developed by a Mac reseller with in-depth knowledge of the industry's real needs. The application offers a clean, Apple Store-inspired interface that effortlessly showcases each device.
Within minutes of installation, your display Mac automatically displays its components, is locked in kiosk mode, and can play a presentation video when inactive.
What DisplayStore does
- Automatically detects and displays Mac components (CPU, RAM, SSD, etc.)
- Locks the application in the foreground — the client cannot exit
- Disable sleep mode for continuous display
- Launches an animated presentation video when inactive
- Allows you to modify the selling price and information from a protected admin area
- Adapts to Mac language (French and English)
System requirements
- macOS Big Sur 11.0 or later
- Compatible with Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5) and Intel processors
- Internet connection required for full component analysis (consultation of the Baryonyx Studio database)
- Works offline for basic functions (kiosk, manual thumbnails, sleep mode)

First configuration
On first launch, DisplayStore guides you step-by-step through a quick setup. In less than 5 minutes, your Mac is ready to be displayed on the shelf.
Step 1 — Set the administrator password
The first step is to choose your administrator password. It protects access to the admin area and is essential for modifying information, exiting kiosk mode, or changing settings.
Step 2 — Configure the selling price
Enter the selling price of the device. It will be prominently displayed on the presentation screen and can be modified at any time from the administrator area.
Step 3 — Device Status
Indicate the commercial status of the device from the three options provided:
- New — Device never used, in original packaging.
- Used — Used device sold as is.
- Refurbished — Device checked, cleaned and restored by you.
This status is displayed on the profile page. It can be modified later from the admin area.
Step 4 — Automatic Component Analysis
Once the information is entered, DisplayStore automatically launches an initial analysis of the Mac. It directly queries macOS to retrieve the model, processor, RAM, SSD, battery, and ports — without any manual entry from you.
Switch to Store Mode
Once the analysis is complete, DisplayStore automatically switches to Store Mode: the presentation screen is displayed in full screen, sleep mode is disabled, and the Dock and Finder become inaccessible to customers. Your Mac is immediately ready to be displayed on the shelves.
Features
Display & Kiosk Mode
DisplayStore locks the application to the foreground to ensure a continuous and secure presentation of the device on the shelf.
Kiosk mode (Store mode)
In kiosk mode, the application occupies the entire screen. The Dock, Finder, menu bar, and system settings are inaccessible to clients. To access the admin area, tap the ⚙️ button in the bottom right corner of the screen and enter your password.
⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + Q allows you to immediately exit DisplayStore without entering the administrator password.Anti-sleep mode
DisplayStore automatically disables sleep mode on your Mac as soon as it starts up. The screen stays on all day, without any intervention from you.
Scheduled sleep mode
You can set an automatic sleep time (for example, when the store closes). The device will go into sleep mode at the scheduled time. It will need to be manually woken up the following morning.
Features

Thumbnails are blocks of information displayed on the screen. Each thumbnail clearly and visually presents a feature of the device. The screen is divided into zones, each of which can accommodate several thumbnails.

Crossed-out price
You can add a strikethrough price displayed next to the current price to highlight a discount or special offer. If no strikethrough price is entered, only the sale price is displayed.

Your store name appears in two places: at the bottom of the screen in Store View, and at the end of the introductory video. It's configured in the admin area and is unique to each Mac—if you have multiple devices in your storefront, each can display a different name.
Features
Presentation video
If there is no activity, DisplayStore automatically plays an animated video showcasing the device's features..

After 3 minutes of inactivity by default, DisplayStore automatically switches to the presentation video. As soon as a customer touches the trackpad, the main interface resumes..
Configure the inactivity timeout
In the admin area, under Settings, you can choose the delay before the video starts playing from the following options: 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 minutes. It is also possible to disable the presentation video entirely.

Features
Language & Localization
DisplayStore automatically detects the language configured on the Mac and adapts the entire interface accordingly.
Supported languages
- 🇫🇷 French — Supported
- 🇬🇧 English — Supported
Change the language manually
DisplayStore follows the Mac's system language. To change the interface language, change the Mac's language in System Settings → General → Language & Region, and then relaunch DisplayStore.
Features
Charger Safety
Charger Safety continuously monitors the Mac's power supply. As soon as the charger is unplugged, an audible alarm triggers immediately and sounds continuously until the device is powered again.
How it works
As soon as DisplayStore detects that the Mac is no longer connected to power, an audible alarm sounds immediately. It is continuous and cannot be stopped by a customer. The alarm stops in one case only: when the charger is plugged back in.
Stopping the alarm
The only way to stop the alarm is to plug the charger back in — the alarm stops automatically as soon as power is restored.
Enable / Disable Charger Safety
Charger Safety can be enabled or disabled from the admin panel. If you do not need this protection, you can turn it off in the admin settings.
