Introduction to DisplayStore

DisplayStore is a professional macOS application designed for MacBook resellers. It transforms each displayed device into a smart display, automatically showing its technical specifications and selling price.

What is DisplayStore?

DisplayStore was developed by a Mac reseller with in-depth knowledge of the industry's real needs. The application offers a clean, Apple Store-inspired interface that effortlessly showcases each device.

Within minutes of installation, your display Mac automatically displays its components, is locked in kiosk mode, and can play a presentation video when inactive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, DisplayStore is completely free. No credit card required, no subscription, no feature limitations. If you'd like to support its development, you can contribute at Buy Me a Coffee.
DisplayStore functions partially offline. Store Mode, thumbnails, and the presentation video do not require an internet connection. However, automatic component analysis requires an internet connection to access the Baryonyx Studio database and retrieve additional information (screen, camera, battery, connectors, etc.). A connection is also required for updates and to report a problem.
In Store Mode, a ⚙️ button is always displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap it to open the password entry page. Once you have entered your password, you will access the admin area.
On the password entry page, press the Forgot Password button. DisplayStore will then generate a unique code — send this code to support at contact@displaystore.fr. Upon receipt, we will send you a new password. An internet connection is required for this procedure.
The basic data (model, processor, RAM, storage, macOS version) is read directly from the macOS system APIs—it's just as reliable as the information displayed in "About This Mac." Additional information (screen, camera, battery, ports, etc.) comes from the Baryonyx Studio database. If a component has been replaced or upgraded, you can manually correct the value in the Device Components section of the admin area.
Access the admin area via the ⚙️ button in the bottom right corner, then edit the selling price directly. You can also add a strikethrough price to highlight a discount. The change is applied immediately in Store Mode.
From the admin area, access the Personalization menu. Here you can choose which tiles to display in each of the four screen areas. More than 20 tiles are available: processor, RAM, storage, battery, ports, Touch ID, Touch Bar, macOS, and many more.
Yes, from the Personalization menu in the admin area, you can change the background (custom image or built-in DisplayStore backgrounds), the color of the thumbnails, icons and text, as well as the transparency of the thumbnails.
After 3 minutes of inactivity by default, DisplayStore automatically launches an animated video showcasing the device's features. As soon as a customer touches the trackpad, the main interface resumes. This delay can be configured from 1 to 5 minutes in the Admin Settings, or it can be completely disabled.
In the admin area, enable automatic sleep mode and set the desired time. The device will go into sleep mode at the scheduled time. It will need to be manually woken up the next day.
Yes, without limitation. You can install DisplayStore on as many Macs as you want in your store. Each installation is independent with its own password, settings, and store name.
In case of a problem, the keyboard shortcut ⌘ Command + ⌥ Option + Q allows you to immediately exit DisplayStore without going through the administrator password.
From the admin area, the Uninstall button removes the additional files installed by DisplayStore. To completely remove the application, simply drag it to the Trash from the Applications folder.
DisplayStore automatically checks for updates on launch. If a new version is available, you will receive a notification. You can also manually download the latest version from displaystore.fr. Updates are free.
DisplayStore supports French and English. The language is detected automatically based on your Mac's configuration. Additional languages are being integrated and will be available in a future update.
From the admin area, the Report a problem button allows you to send a report directly to Baryonyx Studio (internet connection required). You can also contact us via the support form or by email at contact@displaystore.fr.
